The highlight of the gay and lesbian year in Glasgow is the LGBT Glasgow Gay Pride Festival, which takes place towards the end of May. Gay Pride in Glasgow attracts more large numbers of gay men and lesbians and the Glasgow Gay Pride Festival has rapidly become one of the largest free gay festivals in Scotland. With large gay parades, carnivals, Glasgow Mardi Gras parties, market stalls and general Glasgow festivities, the Glasgow Gay Pride Festival is free and always attracts large crowds.




The LGBT Glasgow Gay Pride Festival is a community-based festival and receives some funding from Glasgow Council. Concentrated in the Argyll Street area of Glasgow, some parades take place through the centre of Glasgow city. Attractions at the LGBT Glasgow Gay Pride Festival include live music, gay cabaret acts, sporting events, a fun fair, street entertainment, market stalls and blessing ceremonies.
